5 Top Tips for healthy and good-looking eyes.

Do your eyes feel tired and sore after a long day of juggling all the balls, conquering your world and
tackling life's obstacles? If yes then here are 5 tips to improve your eyes and have people comment
on how well you are looking.

1. Have your eyes regularly examined – preferably once every year.
Vision problems can develop if not identified early, and wearing corrective contact lenses or glasses
that are no longer suitable for you can mean vision problems and severe headaches.
If your contact lenses feel uncomfortable, it is probably time to visit an eye specialist to get an expert
opinion and a recommendation to fix the problem.


2. Go for the best quality contact lenses
Not all contact lenses are equal. Some are safe for you, while others put you at risk of damaging
your eyes.
Contact lenses don't require a lot or fuss, but you can't neglect their cleanliness. Every time you put
your lenses in or take them out, rinse them. You should also take care to change the solution, when
you are putting your lenses to rest for the night.


3. In summer, always wear sunglasses
When buying sunglasses, more important than if they look good on you is to make sure that they block
at least 98% of UV radiation. Largely miss-understood, but light sunglasses can block UV just as well as
very dark ones, even though dark glasses usually offer more protection against bright sunlight and stop
squinting. It is proven that UV rays can seriously damage your eyes, but good sunglasses can
prevent this damage.
Even on a cloudy but bright day it is recommended to wear sunglasses as clouds do not act as a barrier
to UV light. Clouds are basically water, and water is UV-transparent.
Finally, don’t be disillusioned that your contact lenses offer adequate UV protection. Even a very high
quality lens can only protect the area it actually covers and you need to ensure the whole eye
area is protected.


4. Exercise your eyes to strengthen your vision
There is an eye exercise that will help relax the eye muscles and improve the nerve coordination between
the eye and the brain. Exercising your eyes constantly might not help you restore your vision, but it will
certainly prevent further deterioration of vision.
Through these simple exercises you could prevent further vision damage.
Remove your glasses and contact lenses before you begin to exercise.

1) Rub the palm of your hands until it is warm. Cover your eyes with your cupped palm, and do not let any
light enter through the gaps of your fingers. Imagine black colour and focus on it. Breathe slowly and evenly.
Do the exercise whenever you find time.
2) Roll your eyes in a clockwise direction first and then in anticlockwise direction.  Open your eyes, and focus
at a distance, as if you were trying to see something far away in the dark.
3) This is a good thing to do for your eyes, because it helps them to exercise a bit, in a relaxing environment.
4) Shift your focus to an object far away at the right side without turning your head. Similarly, turn your
focus to the left side.
5) Leave your eyes closed for 5 seconds and then open it for 5 seconds. Repeat 10 times.
6) Close your eyes and look directly at the sun. Turn your head from side to side as much as you can.
7) Focus on a distant object for half a minute; and then, focus on a nearby object. Repeat this at least 5 times.
8) Hold your fingers slightly away from your nose, and then slowly bring it close to your nose. Let your eyes
follow the movement of your fingers.
